We’re taking over the Adelaide Hills for a long weekend if classic scootering, great mates and general shenanigans – what could possibly go wrong?!
Hahndorf’s the oldest German village in Australia, and it’s got everything we love — great roads for rides, LOTS of pubs, wineries and distilleries, amazing atmosphere, and a proper Oktoberfest spirit to keep things lively.
Here’s what to expect:
- Scenic rides through the hills and valleys and beyond
- Local beer, cider, wine and food that’ll keep you coming back for more
- Weekend entertainment and scooter shenanigans in true ANCSR style
- Accommodation for every budget — from camping and cabins to cozy pubs, hotels, heritage inns and everything in between
Just a quick half-hour drive up the freeway from Adelaide, it’s easy to get to and the perfect spot for a rally.
It has accommodation to suit all, from camping to glamping, hotels and motels, Airbnb and some great heritage pub accommodation.
Discovery Parks Hahndorf has a conference centre and is where all the do’s will be held. They have put aside heaps of accommodation options for us to choose from – from lakeview cabins to camping sites for 3 night bookings. There’s some great rates negotiated so BOOK EARLY as they are already getting other enquiries about our accommodation.

OK, it’s finally here….. THE ITINERARY
Friday 2 October
3pm – 5pm Meet and greet at the Discovery Parks Conference Centre car park. BYO drinks, come and have a catch-up, say hello to old mates and meet some new ones. Registration will be open, so you can pick up your rally pack and any merch you’ve ordered. Easy as that!
7pm–midnight – Friday night kicks off at the Discovery Parks Conference Centre with our meet and greet DJs bringing the tunes, the good vibes and the perfect soundtrack to get the rally weekend underway. Grab a drink, catch up with old mates, make some new ones and settle in for a night of cracking tunes and scooter rally shenanigans!
Saturday 3 October
10am – Meet in the car park outside the Discovery Parks Conference Centre, ready to roll out at 10.30am sharp. Make sure your scooter is fuelled up and ready for a scenic ride through the hills to Strathalbyn, one of South Australia’s most picturesque heritage towns.
A little dusty from the night before? Haven’t had time for brekkie? No dramas! There’ll be a donut and coffee van in the car park to get you sorted before we head off.
10.30am – We’re off! A scenic ride through the Adelaide Hills, making our way to Strathalbyn for a day of riding, exploring and catching up.
Strathalbyn – We’ll have space to park up at the pub before heading off to explore the Gilbert’s Motor Museum. Located in the original Gilbert Motors building, the museum offers an authentic step back in time. This historic site was once the centre of local craftsmanship – home to hand‑built Treblig bicycles, early motorcycles, and the showroom where generations of families purchased their first Buicks, Holdens and other iconic vehicles. For decades, the workshop kept the community on the road, becoming a cornerstone of Strathalbyn’s identity.
When it comes to lunch, you’re spoilt for choice! There are heaps of places to grab a bite, so find somewhere that takes your fancy, enjoy a feed and have a bit of a relax. Take your time, have a wander around and soak up the local sights.
1.30pm – We’ll start making our way back to Discovery Parks, ready for the afternoon’s festivities.
3pm – Show ’n’ Shine at Discovery Parks! Get those scoots polished, line them up and let’s see what everyone’s brought along. A bit of showing off never hurt anyone!
5pm – LCoA AGM at the Discovery Parks Conference Centre. Lambretta Club of Australia members, this one’s for you! Come along, enjoy a free drink or two and some food, have your say, vote for your committee members and hear what’s been happening across the club over the past year. A bit of business, a bit of banter and a good excuse to catch up and wet your whistle.
7pm–midnight – Back into the Discovery Parks Conference Centre for Saturday night’s entertainment! We’ll kick things off with the DJs, hand over to the brilliant Parklife for a couple of live sets, then finish the night with more tunes from the DJs. A proper Saturday night of music, dancing and good times. Don’t miss it!
Sunday 4 October
10am – Meet in the car park outside the Discovery Parks Conference Centre, ready to roll out at 10.30am sharp. Make sure your scooter is fuelled up and ready for another cracker of a ride through the Adelaide Hills.
We’re heading off on an approximately 65km ride through Woodside, Lobethal, Gumeracha, Chain of Ponds and Cudlee Creek. A beautiful Hills run with plenty of winding roads and gorgeous scenery along the way.
Back to Hahndorf – We’ll make our way back into town, where you can either find a park in the main street or park back at your digs. Just a heads-up, it’s a long weekend, so Hahndorf will be a busy little place! Once you’re parked up, take your time wandering up and down the main street.
There are heaps of places to grab lunch, pubs to settle into, pints to drink, gin to sample, Fruchocs to eat and plenty to see and do. Let’s make the most of this gorgeous little German town while we’re here!
Afternoon – The rest of the afternoon is yours to do as you please. Explore a bit more, put your feet up, do some last minute whittling, have a quiet one or catch up with fellow rally-goers.
7pm – Time to get your German fancy dress on! We’ll be back at the Discovery Parks Conference Centre for our Sunday night shindig, complete with trophy presentations (including one for best costume), entertainment and more tunes from the DJs. Dust off your lederhosen, grab your best Oktoberfest gear and let’s finish the weekend in proper ANCSR style!
Monday 5 October
Up, out, grab a coffee, say your goodbyes and start making your way home.
You’ve got to agree, the weekend has been Heaps Good, Ja! Full of good times, great rides, old mates and new ones. Thanks for coming along and helping make ANCSR 2026 one to remember.
